Hospice of Dubuque staff members receive distinguished certification

Nancy Diehm, Psychosocial Director for Hospice of Dubuque, has been awarded certification as a Hospice & Palliative Social Worker from the National Association of Social Workers. Nancy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in social work from the University of Northern Iowa and, prior to her employment with Hospice of Dubuque, worked for the Iowa Department of Human Services. Nancy has been with Hospice of Dubuque for 20 years.

 
 
Edna Scherbring, RN, BSN, has achieved the credential of Certified Hospice & Palliative Nurse (CHPN). This certification, awarded by the National Board for Certification of Hospice and Palliative Nurses, honors a nurse for their proven competency across the spectrum of hospice and palliative nursing care. Edna earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Clarke College and has been serving the Hospice of Dubuque patients and families since 2003.

Café Manna Java
Musicians Pat Niemer, Deb Stevens, Sue Kalb and Laura Hess sang for Hospice of Dubuque on Thursday, October 8, at Café Manna Java West. The customers and friends of Hospice of Dubuque and Café Manna Java thoroughly enjoyed their musical talents! The group meets monthly at Café Manna Java West with all donations going to various charities. Thank you to the musicians and Café Manna Java for sponsoring the event!

 

10th Annual Pink Ribbon Open Golf Tournament
Hospice of Dubuque Executive Director, Barbara Zoeller, was honored to receive a donation of $5,000 from Doris Gorius of Cookin Something Up, organizer of the annual Pink Ribbon Open. Hospice of Dubuque thanks her and all the participants of this wonderful event for their generosity toward our organization.

 

Fall Wine Tasting
Van’s Liquor Store donated $1,400 from the ticket sales of their Annual Fall Wine Tasting Night, held November 4 at Timmerman’s Supper Club. Thank you to all who supported our organization by attending and to Jeff Jansen and Van’s Liquor Store for the opportunity to be associated with this fun event.
