Growing to Meet the Needs of the Community
For 26 years, Hospice of Dubuque has been providing compassionate care to the terminally ill and their loved ones. As the population continues to age and the demand for end-of-life care increases, the Building for Compassion campaign will allow Hospice of Dubuque to continue to meet the ever-changing needs of our tri-state community.
- Since 1999, the average number of patients receiving care per day from Hospice of Dubuque has increased by 211% and the staff has grown by 179%.
- During the same period, Hospice of Dubuque added new staff disciplines to enhance the delivery of care, including a dietitian, consultant pharmacist, music therapist and massage therapist.
- In 2008, 99% of all patients receiving care from Hospice of Dubuque were able to die in their place of residence, which includes their own homes, nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
- Last year, over 2,000 tri-state residents participated in Hospice of Dubuque’s bereavement programs.
