Bill's Tap Fish Fry

2010 Fish Fry
Randy and Annie Schroeder of Bill’s Tap, Farley, were the hosts of their annual customer appreciation fish fry on Monday evening, August 2. This year's fish fry resulted in over $10,500 of donations to Hospice of Dubuque. Thank you to the many volunteers and businesses who contributed garden produce, food products, baked goods and hours of their time to ensure the night was a big success. A special thank you to Sam Hogan and the Farley Boy Scout Troup 237 for their help throughout the night. We appreciate each of the patrons who supported the fish fry and generously donated much appreciated funds to their nonprofit hospice. Thank you!

On Saturday my dad decided no more hospital. I called hospice from Madison Monday morning. Monday afternoon we had an intake interview, 2-3 hours later the nurse and meds arrived and by 6 pm we had an extra long hospital bed. I am an RN for 28 years and have never seen things in health care happen that fast! I had a couple rough nights with Dad until I accepted and was taught that this night behavior was terminal restlessness, which I had never heard of. Our nurse gently instructed me so that dad’s end of life could be more comfortable. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
