Spiritual Care

The Hospice of Dubuque Spiritual Care Coordinator works with patients and families, based on their wants and needs, to provide spiritual care options, including:

supporting the patient and family of all religions or denominations
working in conjunction with local churches
assisting with difficult end-of-life questions
providing funeral services, upon request.

When Iowa City had no more hope for Dave, all he wanted to do was go home to be with his boys and die. I never hesitated to make that wish come true. He was told he had only one to two weeks to live, but through the grace of God, the prayers of many and the wonderful care and support of Hospice of Dubuque, we were blessed with twelve weeks. Because of Hospice, I was given the confidence to care for Dave and he was given the courage and dignity to accept what was happening to him and make the most of our time together.
