Bestfest A spacious venue, provided by the Grand River Center, was the place to be on Thursday, March 27, for BestFest 2008. Another sold-out crowd was treated to samples from the winning businesses, voted and chosen by the community during the month of January. We at Hospice of Dubuque are incredibly grateful to all who support and participate in BestFest. The funds raised will be used to help supplement the cost of care not covered by insurance, state or federal medical programs. The financial support also allows Hospice of Dubuque to provide bereavement services and support to families. Hospice of Dubuque received over $29,000 from the community’s overwhelming response to the BestFest event. Lastly, a big thank you to the sponsors of BestFest 2008: GOLD: Budweiser/Kirchhoff Distributing, Coca-Cola, Diamond Jo Casino, Dupaco Community Credit Union, Grand River Center, John Deere Dubuque Works, OnMedia, Radio Dubuque and The Dubuque Advertiser. SILVER: A.Y. McDonald Charitable Foundation, Conlon Construction and Finley Hospital. BRONZE: Biechler Electric, Mercy Medical Center, Midwest Business Products, OptionCare and Sedona Staffing Services.
	A fun addition to BestFest is the online prize package auction. The winner of the Bud Bus package was Sherri Meier and the gang at Knicker’s. The winning bid was $811.00. Kirchhoff Distributing donated the use of the Bud Bus and additional prizes were provided by: Diamond Jo Casino, Dupaco Community Credit Union, Coca-Cola, Star Cinema, Kwik Stop, Miracle Car Wash and National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium.
